National Historical Park

The park commemorates the First Women's Rights Convention and the early leaders of the women's rights movement in the United States. Historic sites included in the park boundaries: 1840's Greek Revival home of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, organizer and leader of the women's rights movement, the Wesleyan Chapel, site of the First Women's Rights Convention, Declaration Park with a 100 foot waterwall engraved with the Declaration of Sentiments and the names of the signers of Declaration, and the M'Clintock house, home of MaryAnn and Thomas M'Clintock, site where the Declaration was drafted.

OPERATING HOURS, SEASONS:
Open seven days a week : 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. closed on Martin Luther King's Birthday, Presidents' Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Summer 70s and 80s, Winter 20s and 30s

DIRECTIONS:
From the New York Thruway (I-90): take exit 41 and go south on N.Y. Rte. 414. Turn east on U.S. 20 & 5, which becomes Fall Street. Visitor Center and Wesleyan Chapel are in downtown Seneca Falls, across from the village park on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal. About two miles from 20 & 5 junction, visitor center is on the left.

TRANSPORTATION:
Airports within 1 hour's drive include Rochester, Syracuse and Ithaca. There are no buses or passenger trains that come to Seneca Falls. There is no public transportation within the village.

FEES, COSTS RATES:
$2.00 for Visitor Center, Movie and Exhibits
$3.00 for all of the above and Ranger Guided Tours of Stanton House, M'Clintock House and Walking Tours when available.

Under 16 free with an adult.

We honor all Golden Eagle, Golden Age and Golden Access passports. $2 Admision is waived. Tours are $1 for adults.

Group Reservation fee is $25.00 plus the fees above.

FACILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES:
Visit should begin at the Park Visitor Center, at 136 Fall Street to obtain a schedule of events and activities. Tours and times vary daily.

ACCESSIBILITY:
The visitor center is accessible, the Stanton House second floor is not at this time.

RECOMMENDED ACTIVITIES/PARK USE:
Visitors may enjoy ranger guided tours of the Wesleyan Chapel, Declaration Park, the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Home, the Suffrage Print Shop and historic district walking tours of the village. Wesleyan Chapel tour and Elizabeth Cady Stanton House tours offered year round, others offered in summer only.

RESERVATIONS/PERMITS:
Reservations can be made by calling 315-568-2991. Fee for special tours is $25.

BASIC VISIT RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that visitors plan to spend a full day in Seneca Falls visiting the park historic sites and the Visitor Center which includes exhibits on the women's rights movement, with the film "Dream of Equality" (winner of 25 awards) shown every hour in summer, and upon request the rest of the year.

SPECIAL EVENTS/PROGRAMS:
Each year the Park participates in special celebrations during March (Women's History Month,) " Convention Days", July 19 and 20 and "Women's Equality Day," August 26. Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Birthday is celebrated on November 12.

School House This park is featured in a lesson plan created by Teaching with Historic Places, a program of the National Park Service that helps teachers and students understand how parks and other historic places embody America's historical experiences and cultural expressions.

ADJACENT VISITOR ATTRACTIONS:
Other Seneca Falls attractions within 1 mile of the Park are : The National Women's Hall of Fame (76 Fall Street), Seneca Falls Heritage Area (115 Fall Street) and the Seneca Falls Historical Society (55 Cayuga Street).

Within three hours of the Park are: Over 50 wineries, Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, five miles east on Route 20 & 5, the home of Susan B. Anthony in Rochester, the home of Harriet Tubman in Auburn, the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, Watkins Glen International Raceway in Watkins Glen, and Niagara Falls.
