dc.description.abstract Two symmetrical and one unsymmetrical 'push-pull' amphiphilic 2,2'-bipyridine chromophores have been synthesized through Horner-Wordsworth- Emmons and Knoevenagel reaction mechanized synthetic protocols and characterized by spectroscopy. Linear optical properties and thermal stability of the synthesized chromophores have been investigated. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
